Out with the old, in with the new. Totally by accident.

Sometimes you just outsmart yourself. Sometimes you just shoot yourself in the foot.

I was very good about making backups of all my important work and files, but I decided to get clever and move some stuff around and migrate my iTunes library to my computer’s internal drive, and use the external strictly as backup. This went fine.

What went wrong was that I dumped my old archives, and got lazy about making new ones.

Then my computer’s drive died on me. It was very sad. I gave it a Viking funeral.

But, lesson learned. I now have automated backups occurring each week.

Unfortunately I lost a big chunk of stuff, including my current copy of this site. So. I’m starting fresh this year with a new theme (ahem. yes. canned) and a fresh start on the old blog.

If I get to feeling industrious, I may write a script to rebuild my old site into import file that RapidWeaver can read. Or not.

Following the hard drive meltdown was Thanksgiving, and Christmas – including a lovely trip to NC so the future better half can meet the parents. So busy times don’t make for good web site maintenance times.

But now I’m back in the saddle. Even put my nearly famous mac & cheese recipe up over on BluePlate.

It’s tasty.
