I’ve worked on similar ends of both points of view and both articles make valid points. I would only add two:
- Not everyone can or should run their own business.
- Not everyone wishes to run their own business.
The designer who has a great, marketable idea, talent to make it work, and the entrepreneurial chutzpah to create a business is a rare bird indeed.
Khoi Vinh is such a bird, but makes the mistake of assuming that other people in his field are as good as he is.
